Launched in April of 2000, Thomas & Associates is a boutique litigation practice concentrating in the areas of whistleblower litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and special prosecution of labor racketeering cases.

The firm's founder, Bob Thomas, is a 1985 cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and a former Assistant United States Attorney. He has extensive experience in criminal and civil litigation, including complex white-collar fraud matters and litigation under the federal and state False Claims Acts. Mr. Thomas is a member of the Massachusetts, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Bars, as well as the First and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the District of Massachusetts and Maryland.

Rory Delaney, of counsel to Thomas & Associates, is a 1990 law graduate of the University of Cambridge and a barrister in the United Kingdom, in addition to being a member of the Massachusetts Bar. Both Mr. Thomas and Mr. Delaney have substantial courtroom experience, having tried dozens of cases each in a variety of courts in the United States and England, and before administrative tribunals.

In connection with its growing whistleblower practice, the firm is affiliated with Suzanne E. Durrell (of counsel, DurrellLaw.com), the former Chief of the Civil Division of the Boston United States Attorney's Office. Together with Ms. Durrell, Thomas & Associates now has an active docket of False Claims Act (qui tam) cases filed in federal and state courts around the country. This now constitutes a significant portion of the firm's practice.
